How it works
When dimensional weight is higher than actual weight, every inch of box size costs money on every shipment. This calculator compares billable weight for your current box and a smaller one, then multiplies the difference by your average rate and volume.
Real carrier rates aren't strictly linear by weight, so use your average cost per billable pound from recent invoices. Savings also come from less void fill and faster packing, which aren't counted here. Find the right size to test with the box size calculator.
Results are estimates based on typical industry values. Confirm final specifications with your supplier or carrier.

It depends on how oversized current boxes are. Dropping a few pounds of dimensional weight per parcel can save thousands a year at moderate volumes.
Is a custom box worth it just for shipping savings?
