How it works
Packing several identical items into one carton is a puzzle: 12 items could go 12 × 1 × 1, 6 × 2 × 1, 3 × 2 × 2 and so on, and each layout needs a different box. This calculator tries every grid arrangement and every orientation of the item, then picks the one with the smallest box volume, with a slight preference for boxy shapes over long thin ones.
If the quantity doesn't fill a perfect grid, some slots stay empty. Try a nearby quantity: case packs of 12 or 24 often pack more tightly than 10 or 20. Padding is added once around the whole group, not between items. For fragile items that need separating, use the box divider calculator.
Results are estimates based on typical industry values. Confirm final specifications with your supplier or carrier.
