How it works
Poly mailers are sized by their flat inside width × length, not counting the adhesive flap. When you put a thick item in, the bag has to wrap around it, so the item's thickness eats into both the width and the length.
Fold clothing to the size you'll actually ship, then measure. Poly mailers are ideal for soft, unbreakable goods and are usually far lighter and smaller than a box, which cuts dimensional weight. Anything rigid, fragile or thicker than about 2 inches is better in a box or padded mailer.
